Eating together is at the heart of school life.
Bartley Green School is proud to be working with Alliance in Partnership (AiP) a national school catering company. AiP works closely with the school to not only promote healthy eating policies, but also to improve the quality and value for money to all the customers and provide a fresh and exciting image to help enhance the eating experience. Throughout the year a variety of activities are run within the canteen ranging from:
· Supplier Promotions
· Speciality Theme days
· Range of locally produced produce
· Seasonal weekly menus
· New Innovations
· Customer surveys
Service times
Here at Bartley Green we provide three serving times, breakfast before school, mid-morning break and lunchtime. Our students in receipt of Free Schools Meals are able to use their daily allowance during mid-morning break and lunchtime.
Menus
Typically, the menus run on a 3 weekly cycle and deliver exciting and modern food. They offer a variety of options from a light snack to a lunchtime meal and desert. At lunchtime there is a variety of freshly prepared meals, including a daily special dish, meat and plant-based options, pasta, pizza, jacket potatoes with a variety of flings, a wide range of sandwiches, baguettes and wraps from our Grab and Go counter. A section of delicious desserts are available every day, including fresh fruit and yoghurt as an alternative. Our most popular item is a lunchtime meal deal which includes a main meal, dessert and drink at costs of £2.55 (2024/25).
Allergen and Special Dietary requirements
We are able to supply a full allergen breakdown if required. Our Catering Manager will be delighted to discuss needs with any parent/carer whose child suffers with severe or multiple allergies to enable them the opportunity to use the school canteen and dine with their peers.
Cashless Catering
Bartley Green School operates a smart cashless system. The system is controlled by the latest technology and provides a cash free environment within the school. Following parent/carer consent, a biometric fingerprint is taken and registered in the student’s name. Parents/Carers are able to add credit to the students accounts via their online account and review the daily purchases. Students are able to add to their account with cash using the revaluation machines in school. We do inform students at the transaction stage when balances are low. Spending for every student is restricted at £6 per day. Should the need arise, further spending restrictions can be implemented on parent notification.
